Just found this in a long forgotten folder.
Oh Foulis, how we miss thee!

Working hard and skyping
Today Jessie and I have been skyping and working and writing and thinking as we do some excellent and exciting applications for future exhibitions. I think it's safe to say that we have never written such golden jewels of wisdom and truth and that in our whole goddamn lives.
It is going to be really great.
Our last exhibition can be seen here.

Oh how I wish I had done this
Library book covers stolen, altered and put back by Joe Orton as part of a guerrilla protest against Islington library's poor selection, only caught (and jailed) after an elaborate sting operation involving many undercover librarians.

WRAP
Issue 3 of WRAP magazine launches today, I'm very excited to have been asked to do an Illustrated Day in the Life Of, which centres around my various day to day procrastinations. Most looking forward to seeing the real issue tonight at the launch, it's such a great format, massive and colourful and full of delights!
Also just cannot stop thinking about Drive.
Loving that sweet sweet Home&Away type and jeezo, check out that jacket. HOT DAMN, whata film!

Fini!
Finished the sign today despite hundred mile winds shaking my hand to bits. So don't look too closely at the lettering towards the end...
I wonder what the first graffiti will say..? I'm going to bet on Tart School.
Also saw the first pic of Dark Shadows, the film I worked on over the summer. I probably shouldn't say what I actually did for the film, seeing as I signed a confidentiality agreement and I don't want to get shouted at/sued/killed. Needless to say it was HUGELY IMPORTANT and MOST GOOD.
The sets are insane and incredible and standing in the props store made me want to weep.

OCTOBER? You must be mistaken.
Have been painting the sign for the new Art School Union which has relocated from the now ghost town of Renfrew Street to the ever-thrilling Sauchiehall Street. Started off well, a touch windy but sunny and bright. Was asked an average of 6 questions every ten minutes:
Do you let old people in? (old guy)
Do you serve alcohol? (woman with pram)
How would my son get work experience at the Art School? (loud woman with rather pink lipstick)
Are you Banksy? (neds)
Are you going to be a sign-writer when you grow up? (really old guy)
Do you know where the Casino is? (enthusiastic young man)
Do you serve alcohol? (man wearing leather trousers)
To all of which I of course answered YES.
So it was all going quite well and then BOOM, torrential rain. Even with my trusty sidekick B and a large umbrella, we couldn't get it finished before the heavens opened and battered us down. Plus I knelt in chewing gum, which was just depressing.
It has been raining ever since. Hopefully I'll finish it tomorrow, although BBC Weather suggests otherwise...
(so close and yet so far...)
Also, to all those lucky happy people in London texting me about how delightfully hot it is down there, please stop it. You know it's like Jurassic Park up here, you're just being mean.

Fare thee well, to London town!
We bid my sister a fond farewell from Glasgow on her adventure to The Big Smoke last night with a good old fashioned London eve: bangers and mash (that's sausages and mashed potatoes, in case you were wondering), onion gravy (made from scratch by an actual Londoner), jellied eels (jelly snakes in jelly with a dash of old Martini that tasted like pencil sharpenings), and an array of London landmarks; not so Big Ben, those soldiers with the good hats and Peggy Mitchell, obviously. It was a jolly eve, and there was not a dry eye in the house (no-one cried).
Fare thee well! To le Big Smoke!

Apparently we are in the eye of a 'hurricane' in dear old Glasgow, although I can't really see how the weather differs from any other day we've had since the end of summer (4 days at Easter).
Most of our day was spent inside, beginning with looking out of the window, listening to Bollywood classics and playing with a model train set, and ending with a dance to Knees Up Mother Brown. We were worried we had slightly lost our minds, but thankfully it turns out it was a full moon last night, and all the madness was completely explained.

Exciting birthday times.
Yesterday was my friend Jasper's birthday. He is an avid Charles and Diana memorabilia collector and secret taxidermist (don't look in his freezer). I've been thinking a lot about the Queen's corgis and their different personalities and such, apparently over the years she's had 30, and they all have jolly names like Monty, Linnet and..Susan. I made the card based on the coronation cups that fill my kitchen, hopefully he enjoyed it! I had also promised him a box of doughnuts, but in the end I shamefully forgot. Sorry pal!
